Bloomsbury - a case for celebration

40 years ago a large area of Bloomsbury, opposite the British Museum, was slated for demolition under the proposed new British Library. A local coalition opposed the plans and produced a publication 'Bloomsbury, The case agains destruction' for which local artist Albany Wiseman was commissioned to produce elevation drawings of the threatened streets.

In 2014 local architects, Rodic Davidson, uncovered the original drawings and commissioned Jon to produce contemporary photographic elevations to match Wiseman's original drawings. The combined works were shown alongside each other in an exhibition 'Bloomsbury, a case for celebration' held at Pied Bull Yard, opposite the Museum.
